Free or Paid | Web Hosting: Which way to go.
Should you look for free or paid web hosting? You could get get free or near free web hosting if you purchase one of those programs that say something like this: Get 7 web sites in 29 minutes for only$29.95 You have probably seen these ads in your travels and thought gee, that sounds good, and it does sound like a great offer I agree. The offers sound plausible and even exciting. Then of course they go on and say: Act today offer expires at Midnight tonight. Never letting you know that they have sold 200,000 of them to other people who will now be competing against you with web sites exactly the same as the ones you have just bought and, not only that, they sell exactly the same products also. What a bummer! how could you possibly ever sell anything with that competition lined up against you. It would be a little like having 200,000 McDonald's stores all in the same street. Pick which store is the winner. No hope, can't pick the best store. Same with your 7 new web sites. Then they might go on and say, Get an Internet presence quickly, Earn a million in only 6 months. Believe me when I say: not so! it will be just the opposite, you won't earn a penny. How do we know this? Glad you asked: Been there, done that, lost our money, went back to doing it the right way. Of course if you went ahead and bought a program like this how would anyone using keywords to find a site like yours, actually be able to find it, when there are 100s or 1000s of identical sites out there competing with your sites. And that's not the only problem because there will also be other sites selling the same products as you and they will have been optimized and ranked highly by the search engines so they will show up 1st when somebody searches. The people searching will click on those sites shown 1 to 10 and you won't get a look in, much less make a sale. The only way your site will be found by a surfer is by pot luck.
